This unique combination makes the growing of exceptionally tasteful fruits, vegetables and herbs possible. Of course, great crops translates to great cuisine and the Santorini restaurants are renowned for their dishes and refreshments.

The best way to get around in Santorini is on foot if there is time. If not the next best method is the car. Having an International driver’s license will make it easiest to rent a car from the many car rental outlets on Santorini. If that is not possible to produce, rental car companies such as Budget and Hertz will accept a driver’s license issued in English. The rates are reasonable at an average of $40 US Dollars per day (£64,€54.8). It is also possible to rent a moped if the two wheel, easy on gas method, is preferred. Although using a moped offers greater individual freedom of getting around at a very economical price, the need to focus on safety is at the highest level.
